Hey there, Opera fans!

Today, we’re excited to invite you to splash out your creativity in our Wallpaper Showdown for a chance to win a chunk of a $10,000 prize pool. Previously exclusive to Opera for Android, our custom wallpapers feature has now extended to include Opera for iOS as well. Now, you can jazz up your browsing experience with your own unique artistic flair across all mobile platforms – and potentially win big while you’re at it.

Wondering how the Wallpaper Showdown works? 

Kicking off today, the competition unfolds in three stages. 

In the first round, you’ll design and submit wallpapers that vibe with your personal style. Hand-drawn, digitally designed, or AI-generated – it’s your canvas and your rules. You can submit your designs on our dedicated landing page until August 20th 23:59 CEST.

Next, our creative team at Opera will evaluate all entries to ensure they meet the requisite quality standards. The team will then shortlist 15 outstanding wallpapers to be put up for a public vote.

The final phase will kick off on August 28th, when the public will decide on a public voting page and select their favorite designs. Each person can vote for up to five wallpapers. The voting will last for a week, finally concluding on September 3rd at 23:59 CEST. The results of the Wallpaper Showdown will then be announced. 

If you’re one of the top ten design creators, you’ll be contacted via email with instructions on how to claim your cash prizes.
