1. November 3 to December 3. This year’s month of “jul” or “jol” is from November 3 to December 3. For 2012, it was from November 13 to December 13. It changes from year to year depending on the second new moon of the winter. This jul or jol is based from an old Norwegian celebration.
2. December 24 to January 13. Scandinavian churches ring the bells to usher in Christmas at 5:00 PM on December 24. Jul ends on the 20th day, January 13, following Scandinavian tradition.
