Aria AI in your Browser Tab – New AI Feature Drop
Today we’re introducing a new AI Feature Drop that lets you move a conversation with Aria – our built-in browser AI – from the sidebar panel to a browser tab. Up till today, Aria has always been available in the sidebar panel and the Command Line – and now, you can move an existing conversation or start a new one in a new tab.
This Feature Drop aims to improve your workflow with Aria, meaning that it will be easier for you to jump between the conversation and your browsing activities. In fact, using keyboard shortcuts – in this case, hitting Ctrl+T/Cmd+T to switch between your tabs and Aria – can save you weeks of your life each year.
Finally, because this update gives you the ability to open Aria in a new tab, you can combine it with the browser’s Split Screen tabs feature. This would make it easier to reference Aria’s assistance while researching, writing, or even just reading the news.
So, let’s check out how this works.
Taking Aria AI to a new tab
You can either take an already existing conversation with Aria to a new tab, or start a completely new one in a tab.
Star a new conversation with Aria in a browser tab
- The first step is to open Aria by clicking its icon in the sidebar panel:
- Next, open the side panel with the list of all the conversations you’ve got with Aria. It’s in the top left corner of the interface:
- Finally, click on the new button that’s placed to the right of the Aria logo and name at the top left of the side panel:
After clicking that icon, a new tab will open with Aria’s interface, ready for you to use.
Move an existing Aria conversation to a new tab
- The first thing to do is to open Aria in the sidebar panel.
- Then, open the list of conversations with Aria by clicking on the following icon that will appear in the top left corner of the interface:
- Hover over the conversation you want to open in a new tab and click on the new, rightmost icon to move conversation to a browser tab:
Done! A new tab will appear with your pre-existing chat with Aria in it. You can continue the conversation in the tab, and if you close the tab, the conversation will still be there in the sidebar panel.
