Today’s update to Opera One for iOS brings a fresh new look to Aria, our built-in browser AI. Something we previously added to Opera for Android, this revamped Aria UI aligns with the Opera One design and gives you a more welcoming and appealing interface when you open Aria on your iPhone.

And that’s not all: after seeing that tens of thousands of you loved the new icons we introduced in Opera for Android, we’re also bringing them to iOS so you can create a more personalized home screen – improving the ways in which you can customize your Opera One browser. 

A fresh new look for Aria

While Aria already gives your browser AI superpowers, we felt like it was time to show some love to its UI. That’s why now it looks like this: 

Beyond the new looks, you’ll find a completely redesigned Aria home page that is much more welcoming and intuitive. Furthermore, we’re also adding a new carousel of recommendations with the different things that you can do with Aria and how it can help you go about your day. These recommendations change over time so you don’t always see the same ones. 

We also changed the overall Aria interface – the new UI is cleaner and provides a smoother contrast between the different elements that are on the screen at all times. There’s no need to worry though – we didn’t move anything from its usual place, so you should still feel right at home. 

New app icons to match your style

We were thrilled to see that tens of thousands of you loved the new app icons in Opera for Android, and that you’re not the kind of people that settle for default options – that’s why you’re using Opera after all, right? So, taking this into consideration, we wanted to give you more personalization options for your Opera One for iOS browser so you can make it match your style and your home screen background. Now, you can choose from any of the following options:

To change the app icon head to Settings > App icon, select your favorite, and voilà! 

Further changes in the recent update

We have decided to say goodbye to the crypto wallet that was embedded in Opera One for iOS so we can focus our development efforts on core features to make a browser that’s faster, has better customization options, and brings you a better built-in AI experience.

If you are an existing user who has assets in the wallet, you’ll need to write down your “Backup Phrase” located in the crypto wallet feature in order to migrate your funds to another wallet. You’ll need to get the Backup Phrase and use it to log into an alternative wallet:

1. Access your recovery phrase: Open Opera One for iOS and go to Settings > Crypto wallet > Reveal my backup phrase. This phrase is crucial, as it allows you to restore your wallet in an alternative application – so make sure to store it somewhere safe and in the correct order!

2. Choose a new wallet: Select a secure third-party wallet to transfer your assets to. Trusted options include MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, and Ledger. Once you’ve chosen your new wallet, use the Import Wallet option in the new wallet and enter your recovery phrase in order to access your assets.

3. Keep your recovery phrase secure: Your recovery phrase provides full access to your assets, so store it carefully. Avoid sharing it with anyone or saving it in an insecure place.

If you are an existing user but you never activated the crypto wallet feature, it will be removed from the UI. And if you’re a new user, you won’t see it at all.
