Opera 129 developer
Dear Opera Users,
new developer update is now available, starting version 129!
Key highlights:
- Split Screen got a lot of attention: fixes for restoring Split Screen from different places (macOS system menu, Recently Closed), showing Split Screen pages in “Search in tabs,” and improving how recently closed Split Screens persist between runs.
- Stability improvements: multiple crash fixes, including crashes related to Sync settings, Split Screen + tab islands, Google Meet while creating Split Screen, and Easy Files in the sidebar overlay.

- Fixed cases where the Split Screen button didn’t appear.
- Improved restoring Split Screen from:

- Fixed interaction issues:
- Ctrl+click multi-select on Split Screen tabs could prevent switching tabs by normal click.
- Shift+click selecting two Split Screens on Windows didn’t always work reliably.
- Fixed tab island edge cases with Split Screen:
- Dragging a tab island with a Meet tab detached from Split Screen could crash.
- Creating Split Screen via drag & drop during an active Google Meet call could crash.
- Moving the last tab out of a tab island into Split Screen didn’t always close the island.
- Split Screen didn’t always move correctly with a tab island to another workspace.
- Better handling when closing Split Screen is interrupted.
