Opera 137 Stable
Hello!
We’ve rolled out a new Opera Stable 137 release with a Chromium bump and several stability fixes.
On top of that, we’ve enabled #opera-one-react-settings by default: refreshed Settings experience, rebuilt in React and lightly redesigned along the way.
Core
- Updated Chromium to 153.0.8010.55
- Fixed VP9 and AV1 decoding in the Snap build
- Fixed websites not reacting to touch input on touch screens
- Fixed several crashes on Linux, Windows and macOS
- Fixed Opera being brought to front on Mac when VPN auto-connects after switching to public Wi-Fi
Tabs
- Fixed new tab button position after creating and closing a 4-pane split screen
- Fixed being unable to click the left side of the page next to the blank area of the tabs panel
- Fixed Search in Tabs button in Vertical Tabs when the sidebar is hidden or in auto-hide mode
- Enabled

Early Bird features:
- One of your most-asked-for features is here: we’ve turned
#vertical-tabs-collapse-per-windowon Early Bird. Each window now remembers its own vertical-tabs collapsed/expanded state, and new windows pick it up from the last one you opened. - We also enabled
#emergency-session-restoreon Early Bird. This makes session recovery more resilient: if the normal session restore is interrupted or fails, Opera now falls back through several safer recovery paths instead of starting with an empty session, so you’re much less likely to lose your tabs after a crash. Give it a try!
