Opera 135.0.5973.123 Stable update
Hello!
We’ve rolled out a new Opera Stable release (version: 135.0.5973.123) with a new tab order preference for vertical tabs, and a round of stability and UI fixes.
Key highlights
- Backported the fix for CVE-2026-87491
- Added a preference to control where new tabs open in vertical tabs, available in both Settings and Easy Setup, (enabled the flag #new-tab-on-top on all streams) -> read more here: We’re turning Vertical Tabs upside down in Opera
- Added support for the
chrome.sidePanelAPI: extensions can now render their own side panels, complete with a top bar - Fixed traffic lights not reacting to hover on macOS 26
- Fixed bookmarks bar disappearing after exiting full screen
- Fixed crashes in tab media list refresh, tab collection move logic, and Vertical Tabs-related crashes on macOS
- Fixed close button not being visible in collapsed tabs after clicking it
- Fixed a stray single-tab island being created when opening split-screen links, and fixed dragging a split-screen tab into a tab island
- Fixed WhatsApp panel not opening with its shortcut
- Fixed the search-copy popup appearing in random places
