Here’s an interesting fact: 8 out of 10 people who use Opera Mini in South Africa are between the ages of 18 and 34, which is fitting given that we are currently celebrating Youth Day.
Using the internet as a mouthpiece
Youth Day commemorates the togetherness and the joint efforts that the youth of South Africa took on to have their voices heard. They courageously stood up for what they believed in and helped form the South Africa we know and love.
Today, the online space is an important medium for self expression and provides people freedom to communicate openly. The Arab Spring of 2011 brought to light the importance of social technology as tools for empowerment.
