We’ve rolled out a new Opera Stable release with a Chromium bump and a batch of fixes across tabs, easy setup, and visuals.

Core

• Fixed white flash on Opera startup
• Updated Chromium to 148.0.7778.254

Split Screen

• Fixed split screen icon disappearing after clicking a chip

Vertical Tabs (available in Early Bird)

• Fixed crash when dragging a tab island out of the vertical tabs panel
• Fixed tab islands disappearing from recently closed history
• Restored loading spinner on vertical tabs
• Fixed moving pinned tabs within the pinned section
• Improved selected vs. unselected tab distinction in the accessibility tree
• Fixed white font for tab islands in light theme
• Updated horizontal tab islands name placeholder colors
• Smoother collapsed-to-expanded icon animation
• Incremental handling of split screen changes in the vertical tabs panel

We also enabled  #browser-connector-in-toolbar in Early Bird. To try it, enable the feature and install Browser Connector from opera://settings/ai.
