Hello again,

In September 2020, Opera GX became the world’s first browser with adaptive background music. The new functionality aims to bring an immersive sound experience known from gaming to web browsing. We initially shipped it with one soundtrack and we are now giving young artists the opportunity to compose new soundtracks to accompany different types of browsing.

We recently announced GX’s partnership with Game Music Festival 2020, the largest game music score festival. In our main competition, we asked the world’s most talented young composers to submit their proposals for the next soundtrack in Opera GX.

Candidates were tasked with composing a 2-minute clip for a browsing soundtrack in Opera GX. Many compositions have been received and, while an international jury will select the top 3 winners, we would like to give you the opportunity to listen to all the selected contenders’ tracks and choose your favorite one. The winner will secure the Audience Award, which includes a cash prize of $2,000 and the opportunity to compose one of Opera GX’s future soundtracks.

To help decide, listen to all the competing tracks below and cast your vote underneath. Voting finishes on Wednesday, October 14th, at 11:59 pm CET. The winner will be announced on October 17th at 8:00 pm CET during the Game Music Festival stream on Twitch, which will be live-streamed from The National Forum of Music in Wroclaw, Poland.
