  • Purple blue, inaccurate color issue persists. opera://flags “Color correct rendering”.

Browser still shows purple-tint on blue and inaccurate colors when set to Default.
#enable-color-correct-rendering needs to be Disabled to show correct colors.

in testing….for speed dial wrong colors

      • Speed Dial looks normal here and always has, regardless of settings.

    • Chrome 62.0.3202.62 now shows the same color problem.

      With the introduction of chrome://flags/#force-color-profile
      Force sRGB solves it.

  • andrew84

    Thx for update.
But I’d like to mention that bug I described here still persists.
I also checked Opera beta with the same result.

But in Opera developer it looks ok.

    • Thanks for reminding this. We will try to get this fix to get into our next updates.

There’s an issue on macOS 10.13 with dark theme – window app has lost its roundedness (error also occurs in private mode). If I turn off transparency (Preferences Panel -> Accessibility -> Display -> Reduce transparency), the error also affects the default theme.

Thank you for reporting this. Bug reported.

speed dial wrong colors is returned

  • FluffyBoyo

Lets not forget working on trying out tab bar kinetic scrolling left and right. For those using 100-200+ tabs.

And of course having all settings back end windows able to have dark mode once the main dark mode UI is turned on. And in time the right click context menus and drop down menus. With settings to customise.

Nice job on this update… removing all my extensions, data linked to it, reset browser settings and speeddials. Good idea and nice communication on this one.

Bug. Whatsapp from sidebar asks for permisson to set desktop notification, but it’s not possible to enable it, it disappear before you can click.

    • Ewa

Hi, thank you for your comment. It’s already reported as DNA-61820.

Still no “confirm on exit when multiple tabs are open” thing 🙁 Been accidentally closed entire Opera (and opened tabs) a couple times before. This is really annoying, especially because ancient version of Opera actually has this small-yet-essentially-important feature

    • Marko Koivuniemi

I totally agree. I would like to disable tab close button entirely and close tabs via menu. My way of using browser seems to be vulnerable to accidental clicks.

thanks for the Pinch to zoom fix for the mac version!
    you guys are great!!

I have stable Opera version 48. I recently have a issue typing text into Google mail body. I cant copy paste, no indication there is a hyperlink to insert the ability for typing. When I switch bowser to Google or FireFox, I can type into the body (no issues) The only thing I did recently for the Opera browser I added Adguard Adblocker. I disabled the Adguard, it did not help.

  • Noach Vogel

Can you get Internet Download Manager to work with Opera? I added it in the Settings, but it still doesn’t work.

  • icetom

please Opera team tell me what those partner links in your speeddial exactly are.

i have noticed that since years, but noone talks about it. they are only visible with very slow internet, but i guess they slow down the buildup of the site a little bit also. you always say our data is secure with you, but obviously you have a ref-link or some sort of tracking marketing partnership with several sites. seems that is why you always keep adding several sites magically to our speeddial?

the mobile opera has also many referrals/trackers in it, but i will not discuss it here since it is the desktop blog.

    • Leonardo Gomes

The Speed Dials that are added when you install Opera for the first time or after an update are one of the revenue sources for Opera.

      • icetom

i know that, i didnt ask that. i am asking about the way it is redirecting certain sites. i want the technical explanation and an official statement what happens to our private data.

        • Leonardo Gomes

They probably get their revenue based on number of clicks so I guess they should use the redirect to be able to count the clicks.

It’s not something new, even Opera Presto used it.

I think that Opera’s privacy policy has the info you need.

          • Robert Tomaszewski

            Hi icetom,
            Leonardo is fully right.
The urls set up directly on recommended speedials are for counting purposes. And also in this particular case we respect Opera’s privacy policy

    • Hector MA

Never really tried them, if your concern is about private data, don’t click and just delete them.

  • Spider Jerusalem

Opening more than one tab in youtube kills my soundcard, forcing me to reboot to get sound again (Sound Blaster x-fi HD). Doesn’t happen with latest Chrome.

    Windows 10 64-bit, Creators Update build 15063.674

  • Ondřej Skutka

This version is extremely unstable. It restarts like every 10 minutes and eats huge amount of cpu all the time. Switching back to 48.0.2685.35… 🙁

    • Hector MA

      Win 10 1511 at work.
      Win 10 1709 at home.
      No problems so far.

  • L33t4opera

    New build – Opera stable 48.0.2685.50 😉

    • redfox

Why is it in an additional “desktop” subdirectory?

      • L33t4opera

        Hi, few fixes:
Windows – misplaced submenus (menu/bookmarks bar folders),
Linux – black border on sidebar communicator (Intel GPUs),
        Mac – high CPU usage.
