    Thanks for the update..

At the Opera startup after update, I got “page crashed” errors, when I tried to open local .mht or .mhtml pages with Opera. It seems to be ok since next Opera restart.

As I wrote in previous “stable” update, same issues:

I have several graphic issues since upgrade from O46 to O47. Windows 10×64, GPU – NVidia, Opera x64. Always appears in Atlassian JIRA, sometimes on other sites. Looks like it’s only when GPU acceleration enabled in browser. No issues with Opera 46 or latest Chrome.
    Examples:
    Ugly scrollbars in JIRA: http://imgur.com/a/JJ9Os
Ugly blue background on reply to comment in JIRA: http://imgur.com/a/ChLEw

Also we have Manageengine Password Manager Pro (web-based password manager) latest version and half of it functions (search, granting rights etc) not working since upgrade to O47. Working fine in Opera 46, Chrome 60, Edge, but not in Opera 47. The worst part – there is no exceptions in console, only one: [Deprecation] Synchronous XMLHttpRequest on the main thread is deprecated because of its detrimental effects to the end user’s experience. For more help, check https://xhr.spec.whatwg.org/. send @ jquery-1.11.0.min.js:4

But the same in Chrome, where all working..

    • Kornelia

Hi, changelog is fixed. 32bit version of Linux is not supported anymore so the link leads to last released one, 45.0.2552.898.

      • anab

Hi Kornella, I’m running 64bit version of Linux. But the link didn’t lead to Opera 47.0.2631.80.

        • Kornelia

Ok, sorry. Seems something went wrong yesterday but it should be fixed now. Please check and let me know.

          • anab

Hi Kornella, it’s fixed now. On my side the new version works fine. Thanks for that update.

Hi, i’m gonna report an issue i experimented twice a problem when i saved a PDF to local drive (USB). The browser freezed and i had to closed it. It was with the stable branch, the actual version 47.0.2631.80 and the 1st issue was on 2 previous versions i think it was 47.0.2631.55, i could save the PDF at the USB but it’s kinda frustrating, i could close, minimize, maximize and restore (today the same). I just wanted to share this, for help to improve the web browser. Thanks as always for your work and improvements.
    Greetings.

    Thanks for new release!
as reported in DNAWIZ-19289 and in Opera 47.0.2631.55 Disqus comments, like all previus v47 releases the colors of my speeddial thumbnails are wrong (not always, sometimes thumbnails colors are ok)

    • Rudric

Yes some of the colors have changed, but I never really noticed any logic with the colors…
Seems like there might be something happening to Start Page behind the scenes? Who knows 😀

    FEATURE REQUEST, LINUX + Win10 + Mac OSX ::

    Internal Page :

    [update 1]
    chrome://opera-distribution-keys/

Barring this, modifying the “about page” to point to an internal page of the TXT kind that has tall the apt keys infos on it would be a good idea. This modification should be for all the desktop Opera versions.

they wrote that this defect is confirmed and accepted for correction, but at the moment nothing has changed – the color is changing …two colors of the express panel icons change to a negative (green – purple, red – blue) … why it is difficult to understand and solve the problem …

Bug: When I delete a bookmark and then restore it from the Trash, the bookmark is moved to the “All bookmarks” folder, not to the original one where it was previously.
When I modify the location (click the heart icon), Opera sometimes crashes.

    • Momfer1

      I have the same problem.

I also have another ‘problem’ : The spinning wheel cursor stays a few seconds when I open or close Opera. (win10 v17.03 64bit)

      • redfox

The spinning wheel is caused by the running process opera_autoupdate.exe.
If you delete/rename the executable, the problem will be solved (although you’ll loose the ability to auto-update Opera).

        • Momfer1

          OK. Thanks!

  • 2112

Sometimes buttons from some websites stop working because javascript stops randomly on Arch linux. Restart Opera solves the problem during some time, but it happens repeatedly. Very annoying problem…

If you use utf-8 character search phrases with the context menu option “Search with…” and the target server is displaying them wrong as escape characters in the URL, the cause is in Opera – it has set a different encoding for the custom search engine, other than utf-8. There is (still) no settings to modify it directly.

How to fix it (my guide):

    Close Opera
Locate file “Web Data” in the Opera profile folder and copy it somewhere else
    Go to https://sqliteonline.com/
Open DB file “Web Data” from the backup location
    Execute these SQLite commands:

    UPDATE keywords
    SET input_encodings = “utf-8”
    WHERE id > 0;

(you can change the WHERE command, if you want to modify only one of the engines – in this case, the table column has name ‘short_name’, the name is the same as displayed in Opera search engine settings)

Save the DB file, close Opera and copy the file to the Opera profile folder. Thats all.

If someone needs to sort the search engines in the context menu too, let me know, I have the solution.

  • Paweł

The stable version of Opera, which is falling apart, is logging in to your own Opera account to synchronize bookmarks, passwords, and so on. It often happens even when I write a message.
    The second thing.
In the past, the browser was installed in C: / Program Files. Today the browser is installed in AppData -> Local -> Programs -> Opera.
Is it normal? Any changes have taken place?

    • Robert Tomaszewski

      Hi Paweł,

Wrt the second question: there are 2 types of installations: “all users” that goes to Program Files (req. administrator privileges) and “single user” where there is no administrator level possible and goes into the local folder. By default Opera installer starts the process with assumption of administrator level but If during the installation on the UAC dialog (asking you to elevate to administrator level) you denied then Opera Installer falls back to “single user”. I hope that gives you better overview on where and why Opera installs itself to the certain folders 🙂

      • Paweł

Hello, thanks for the information. All clear in this topic. 🙂
