Imagine getting paid for browsing the web. Imagine no more. We’re looking for a personal browser – a person whose task is to browse the web. Yup, you heard us right. We are looking for the unvarnished truth, no matter how weird, funny or boring it is.
Sound like a joke? It sure isn’t.
As a Personal Browser your task will be to browse the far corners of the web and talk about the fun and the weird stuff you come across. We will help you find the good stuff – as, quite frankly, we have seen it all. Your work days will be shared online.
For this important role, we’re looking for the kind of person who loves silly memes, watching baby seal videos and studying conspiracy theories. Yes, you.
The browser is the place where your online life happens. We are curious to see the real faces behind the clicks. Whether you’re a nun streaming death metal at night, a fitness guru who bookmarks cake recipes all day, or a biker looking for knitting tutorials, we don’t judge.
You can think of it as a damn great gig. You’ll get paid €8,000 for two weeks of something you’d otherwise do for fun, and you can do it from anywhere in the world.
The two-week browsing period will begin in winter 2020/2021. Beyond your pay, we also promise to contribute to your world-wide fame via Opera’s social media channels.
Applications are open to the entire population of the world, with the sole requirement that they be true. Instead of a traditional application process, everyone interested is asked to submit a short video where they talk about the most relevant browsing moment of their life. It can be anything from a funny incident to a dead serious revelation – something you’d want us to know.

Good luck – we are looking forward to watching your videos and meeting our first personal browser!
