Making sure everyone’s online: Opera at Codemotion conference, Rome

Opera’s Bruce Lawson was a speaker at the recent Codemotion conference held in Rome. He talked about “How to destroy the web” – showing how bad developer practices can break the web – and sat on the Browser performance panel.

Codemotion is one of the biggest tech conferences in Europe, gathering developers and programmers from around the world in Rome, Milan, Tel Aviv and Madrid.

In a 5-minute interview, Bruce discusses how Opera helps to get everyone online, wherever they are in the world.

For some people in Bangladesh, the web can be a school when you’ve got a 5-mile walk to school. For some people in Africa, the web can be used to access health information when you can’t afford a doctor. The web really brings differences to people’s lives, and it’s important that we remember that and give those people the web.
