In this beta release, with the changelog short as the winter days in the northern hemishpere (do I repeat myself?), we improved the browser stability, fixed a couple of Windows 10 crashes, beautified Mac version a little and updated the Chromium engine to version 47.0.2526.73. And all of this described in just one sentence (OK, this is the second one, but you know what I mean).

Note that this is our stable release candidate, and should be of stable quality. Please let us know of any issues you might encounter, however I truly hope there will be none.

Have fun checking it out!

Thanks for this Opera beta 34.0.2036.24 stable release update !
What does a stable release beta update means ? Like it’s going to be final release soon !

    • I guess there will be no update to Opera 33 any more (a few days ago an update to Opera 33 got pulled), but instead Opera 34 is going to be next update to Opera Stable. 🙂

      • Aneta Reluga

Telepaths around me or what… 😛

          Kaszpirowski – part 1 😉

    • Leonardo Gomes

I guess it means that this a release candidate for a Stable build.

  • Luis Amaral

Anyone else having Opera lock up opening random links in new tab and after closing and restarting Opera it works normally?

  • Alexander Evseev

Wow! Speed Dial opens extremely fast now!

  • Junaid Ahmed

The extension “Lastpass” gets corrupted almost everyday on beta version since probably last 5-6 days

    • Kornelia Mielczarczyk

Hi Junaid, sorry that you’re having troubles using Opera. What’s your operating system?

  • A_DAJ

would be great to see VAAPI patch added like chromium does on linux , so we can use proper hardware acceleration , and we would have to use #ignore-gpu-blacklist to use it , if there is a stability concern ( although chromeOS use it by default ) ,

if opera was open source , we could have added the patch manually , but sadly it is not .

  • I like Opera, i used for years Apple Safari as secondary Browser and Google Chrome as my primary Browser. I tried also Firefox but Firefox doesn’t runs well at the moment on Apple OS X.

Maybe Opera developer can integrate all the positive and useful features from Firefox, Chrome and Safari in one Browser.

I use Opera on OS X El Capitan it works but Google Chrome feels more smooth in application Performance. And often with Opera if i open for example Facebook and few other simple Tabs/Websites without any Videos … my MacBook Pro Retina early 2015 with Intel HD 6100, Intel Core i5 CPU and 16 GB RAM runs the CPU fans on full power without any reason. Maybe you can new Performance features from OS X El Capitan to make the Opera Browser more smooth.

Then i wish me a optional dark mode of Opera. I don’t mean assigned with OS X Dark mode i mean the app itself. Fast Tab Previews like this Vivaldi Browser would be awesome.

I think for modern Browsers with future is it important to run fast, the Browser should be slick, should have a sexy look with smooth animations, nice and many Add-ons. Very important thing is privacy and data protection. I hope Opera will do here a lot.

    • Kornelia Mielczarczyk

Hi @Ale@catopuma_de:disqus, thanks for using Opera. We listen to our users and collect all your comments. We’re trying to to deliver you fast and modern browser every day. Stay tuned and you won’t be disappointed 😉

      • Thank you! Here the issues which i have: on Safari, Firefox, Chrome it works perfect but on Opera i have green horizontal and vertical lines. See here the Screenshot:

If i scroll on this page down the graphic works slow and my CPU fans runs up to 100 %

The same issue i have on some YouTube Videos or simple Facebook. On Dropbox if i want copy the URL over their Copy to clipboard method then it didn’t copy to my Clipboard. In Chrome or other Browsers i haven’t this issue.

I hope you take a look on this and fix it in next releases. The highest issue is for me that often the CPU fans on my MacBook runs up to 100 %. That is hard if i looking on YouTube a Video or visiting Facebook for a while.

My machine is simple the newest MacBook Pro Retina 13″ inch with Intel Iris HD 6100 graphics OnBoard card, Intel Core i5 5. Generation, 16 GB RAM, SSD storage with newest OS X El Capitan stable release. I think Videos or Facebook should make my machine in sleep without enable the CPU fans 😉

Maybe on OS X El Capitan the Apple Metal engine can give some Performance benefit for Opera App.

Hi, the ‘Forbes’ issue has already been fixed in Chromium, so the fix will reach Opera soon. This is .

        • Arjan van Leeuwen

Also the green lines is a Chromium issue, you’ll see the same when running Chrome Canary or Chrome Developer stream.

  • Kamen Minkov

There’s been a bug in the last few dev versions – sometimes when the window is maximized and when the tab bar is full, opening new tabs would cause the rightmost tab to go over the tab menu button. It can be “fixed” if I restore and maximize the window again. This is on Windows 10 Pro.

On SoundCloud music seeking and mouseover effect (hover positioning) is not working in the upper soundwave part. Seeking itself is functioning when using the bottom timeline bar. With Chrome it works fine.

We are unable to confirm this issue and need more info. Can you please turn off extensions and recheck? Thanks!

      • formjoe

        I’ve disabled all extensions.

After disabling extensions, SoundCloud was complaining about Flash being disabled (music didn’t even start), even though the Flash plugin wasn’t disabled at all (all plugins are always enabled for all sites, checked plugin settings too).

After updating Flash (PPAPI version, from to, now up to date according to Adobe Flash online version checker), the music was playing again with extensions disabled.

When the music is stopped, the gray dimming effect works with the soundwave, but during playing the orange seek effect and clicking the soundwave upper part is not working. I can click on user thumbnails (comments) in the soundwave lower part.

Inpsect console is empty (well there’s a failed resource from with 502 Refused status, I guess that shouldn’t be the issue).

The same happens in private window too, there’s no difference whether it’s a private session or not.

I’ve also tried an entirely clean Opera session with specifying –user-data-dir in the command line. I’ve disabled all plugins except Flash, and no extensions were installed for this profile. Unfortunately even this didn’t help.

Is there anything left I can try?

        • Aneta Reluga

Thank you very much for your efforts to help us identify the issue, this means a lot. Sent for investigation, because myself, I’ve virtually run out of further ideas. Eh.

1)Add the ability to remove the white area to sign tiles.
2)On some pages, instead of the white lines of text, such as page settings of the router ( tex settings that must be selected is not visible until you press.
3)After logging (authorization) on the site Opera sometimes deadly hangs.
4)Still autocleaning history after you close your browser

I have Opera Developer set as default but when I click on a link, it opens Opera Stable (O33 at the moment) Is this expected behavior?

    • Leonardo Gomes

Shouldn’t be. Have you set it as default in Opera’s settings page or on Windows’ control panel?

  • Vux777

default background for bkm tiles doesn’t fit many times if logo is transparent PNG with light colors

I get this error that the user profile folder cannot be opened, even if I run Opera as administrator:

    • Aneta Reluga

      1) what type of installation is it? (all users, single user or USB)
      2) what is the profile path? (can be checked in opera:about)
      Thanks in advance.

      • Saskatchewan

        1. All users

        2. I cannot check opera:about, as Opera wouldn’t run at all, but I believe it’s this one: C:UsersMYNAMEAppDataRoamingOpera SoftwareOpera Next

Update: I have renamed my profile folder, started Opera, closed it and renamed the profile folder back. – The browser was starting a bit longer than usually, but it did start.

PS I’ve got 671 “ssdfp” files in my profile folder (these are some JSON files with extensions’ ids and their versions). I assume I can delete these? Shouldn’t Opera do this automatically?

        • Vux777

I had problems with those files
I was deleting them manually without any problems
Recently they stop appearing, not sure what changed

          • Saskatchewan

            Thanks for the info Vux777!

          • Aneta Reluga

That’s right, they can be safely deleted.

May i add a sugestion? The downloads icon, once clicked, does not show the option to cancel current downloads right away. You need, in order to do that, to click that ico, then to click “show more” down bellow, and only then you can cancel the target download you want to get rid of. 3 clicks to cancel an active download is a bit too much. Near the pause button, after you click the download icon, should have a cancel icon/button. OR, if i may suggest, hold the left mouse button once clicked the download button to create a small drop menu where the user can cancel all downloads (or a specific one). Would be faster and easier. I’m using Opera since i can remember, and it is the best option available for sure. Keep it up.

    • Leonardo Gomes

It’s (being) implemented in Opera developer 35.

      • Ulisses

        Cool. Thanks for the info.
