Opera launches new fintech, Dify, and becomes the world’s first browser to give users cashback for online shopping
It’s not an everyday experience to launch new products, especially if we’re talking about fintech products when our starting point was a browser. Now we’ve made it, and we’re ready to press launch and start the shift.
Today, we are launching Dify, Opera’s new fintech, with ambitious plans to disrupt financial services in Europe.
First out is Dify Cashback and the Dify Wallet. Dify Cashback allows consumers to receive cashback for online purchases through the Opera browser. The earned cashback is paid out to the Dify Wallet, which is available for Android and iOS. The app also features a free virtual card with Google Pay™ support, and we will soon be launching more features in the app. We are excited to first launch this in Spain with more European markets coming soon.
A browser with cashback
Wouldn’t it be nice to save money on the things we buy online? Today we started rolling out an integrated cashback service in Opera. With this, Opera becomes the first and only browser to offer a smart shopping mode and give you a seamless and safe cashback service without the need to use third party extensions. We are starting in Spain and will soon expand to other European markets. Sign up here to get updates and find out when we are launching in your country.
Starting now, Opera users in Spain can earn money back while shopping on partner websites with Opera, and seamlessly claim their cashback in the new Dify app (available on Android and iOS devices). Dify is a digital wallet with a free virtual debit card, and a new fintech by Opera.
As one of the world’s major browser providers with 380 million monthly active users around the world (~50 million monthly active users in Europe), we are adding a smart shopping mode to our desktop browser. The new smart shopping mode creates a unique shopping space that protects your cashback from any potential errors by disabling third party extensions and the ad blocker. It also gives you access to unique cashback deals from more than 70 partner websites (and hundreds lined-up), including top ecommerce merchants like Nike, Sephora and Asos, to name a few. You will be able to claim and spend your cashback in the new Dify app.
To sum it up: with Dify, we are making the browser and a digital wallet work better, together, to improve your shopping experience and to also make it financially rewarding.
Dify app with a free, instant virtual debit card
Opening an account with the Dify app gets you a free virtual Mastercard debit card for shopping online, or offline using Google Pay. You will also be able to use it to collect cashback for purchases made using the smart shopping mode within Opera. Additionally, using your Dify card to pay for your online shopping in Opera will get you extra cashback.
The cashback service as well as the Dify app are currently offered in Spain in beta, with more European markets to follow in the future. For more information and to get onto the waiting list for new markets, go to https://cashback.getdify.com/.
