Thank you for this Opera 50.0.2762.14 beta update on Thanksgiving Day !

Lastpass-Expension is still “damaged” after some time. Please fix this… it’s SOO anoying to repair it every few minutes…

    • Ewa

Hi, we fixed this issue internally and it will be available with our next beta update.

  • FluffyBoyo

Some sort of tab bar mouse kinetic scrolling back and forth with open tabs. Very essential for when using 100-200+ open tabs. So one can clearly see the fav icons when scrolling. Currently with 100-300 open tabs all one can see is a tiny slither for a tab. Based on FF tab scrolling but with your own unique Opera flavour.

And to extend the very good dark mode UI onto ALL back end settings/extensions/experiments/etc pages. And then in time, the on-page right click context menu. (with settings to have dark modes on or off where you want)

all speeddial thumbs linking to local files renamed with the file name of the first local file. Is it just me?

Hi there, I use Opera on my Office machine. Opera keps prompting me to update it but the PC has software on it to stop me installing programs so the Update never works. The blocking software is called Defendpoint but there is an add and remove programs tool that I can use if I can download the update. Is there a URL available where I can get a non destructive update image so I don’t lose all my default settings and bookmarks?

    • Przemek Kudła

You can just download the newest Opera from https://www.opera.com and install it. You will not lose your profile and get the update.

        Many thanks

Why does the bookmark bar pop out every time you click on the add to bookmarks button?

I choose to have the bookmark bar hidden in settings, but every time I click to add a new bookmark or add something to speed dial, it pops back out and I have to go back into the settings to toggle it off again.

    • Andrey

      Yes, it’s very annoying.

      • Kornelia

Seems like a bug, I’ll report this issue. Thanks.

        • Andrey

In developer version the same bug

Look at “DNA-64807 Add new opauto test for showing bookmarks bar on adding a bookmark – DNA-64796 in the changelog for reference 🙂

  • Please, fix compatibility with LastPass. Very uncomfortable without it.

    • Pro_info

I use LastPass google chrome plugin in the meantime…

      • Nashuim

Thanks, started using this as well

    • Andrey

Tell this to lastpass developers, in opera addons – update from 27/06/2017, in chrome extensions – from 17/11/2017 …

Hi, it’s already fixed and will be available with our next beta update.

  • FluffyBoyo

When changing refresh rates using Zoom player/MadVR the Opera tab bar and top row of the UI disappear. This has been going on for some time now, many builds. Only happens when opera is not minimised. Only a opera restart clears it.

    • FluffyBoyo

Any luck reproducing this one yet? If I have Opera open and at the same time start playback of video using any player that also changes the refresh rate, opera then loses the top UI and tab row. It then needs to be closed and re-opened to clear this bug.

My daily routine for the last two up/down-dates:
    1. Start Opera Beta.
    2. VPN can’t connect, play around, give up.
    3. Find LastPass extension completely uninstalled, install, use it for half an hour, repair, give up.
    4. Close the browser.
    5. Repeat.

    • Ralf Brinkmann

VPN is working here very well. You should write more about your system or your location.

Today when I started the PC I played for about 10 minutes with VPN – it connected and disconnected couple of times, which is inconvenient so I disabled and couple of hours later enabled it. Till now it works without disconnecting for about an hour and a half.
LastPass extension is not usable – I had to reinstall today again and right now to repair again.

Maybe you try out the x64-version of Opera on your system. Perhaps it’s better.

          • Penkov

Strange thing is I somewhere read when they introduced x64 that the installer will decide which version to install so I completely ignored installing x64.
            Do you use LastPass plugin?

          • Ralf Brinkmann

            No, I don’t.

          • Penkov

Ha! It feels like couple of months earlier but it’s over a year ago. 🙂

            Please don’t confuse with “auto-update”.
            Thanks for the heads up!

    Version: 51.0.2781.0
    Update stream: Developer
    System: Windows 10 64-bit (WoW64)
    Oprea: 32-bit installation.

Issue: “Re-open closed tab doesn’t work”

Desc: When user clicks on “Re-open closed tab” the tab comes blank. User has to manually re-load the webpage.

Issue 2: That annoying bookmarks bar appears everytime whenever user adds a new bookmark even if the bookmarks bar is disabled.

One needs to manually disable it everytime.

    • xirit64

Known issues, also this is the beta place 🙂

  • Penkov

And another one – how to upgrade existing 32-bit beta instalation to 64-bit? I read that the installer should be smart enough to suggest it but it doesn’t. I tried the network beta installer and the offline x64 one too. So what am I supposed to do?

As far as I know Opera recognizes the installed version and updates only this one. But you can install the other version yourself beside the 32 bit. It will use the same profile folder. And once installed Opera will also update the second version.
