This quick release is out of the regular release cycle, and contains only one fix – for a renderer crash while going fullscreen on embedded Youtube videos (DNA-53190). I won’t be preparing a changelog due to that. Apologies for the inconvenience and please make sure you have the newest beta to have this fixup.

  • Rafael

    • BK

      Soon 🙂

      • iYuzver

        Very long!

        • Rafael

Thanks. But this is very long. =(

  • yigido

    Hi,
    Please see the report: DNA-52995
I have the same problem now on Opera Beta. Just ınform to you. Thanks

    • Leonardo Gomes

And what that problem is about?

As Opera’s BTS is not public, i guess it would be interesting to not just post the bug ID but also mention what it is so people can try to reproduce and maybe even try to help fixing it.

      • BK

The issue is that last pass is not working. We are investigating.

    • BK

Hi, the bug report was created from O38, developer version. Are you sure it’s about Beta?

      • yigido

It is now happened to Opera Beta release. It is jumping to Stable release.

    • Kornelia

LastPass is not extension developed by Opera. Problem seem to be with extension itself. In such case it would be best to check out their support https://lastpass.com/support.php?lpnorefresh=1 and request help directly from them.”

      • yigido

You are right but there is no problem with stable release of Opera with the same extension. The problem just jumped to Beta channel.

        • RafaellaG

But Opera 37 beta isn’t any more the same as Opera 36 stable.

So the developer of Lastpass has to fit their program to Opera 37+ if they want it to run with the lastest Opera, not the other way round.

          • yigido

You are right. The stable is v36 and the problems only happen on v37. Quality Assuarence team should contact to LastPass for this problem and make them fix their extension for Opera. For Opera community sake. I can write this on their forum but their forum is dead place like Arizona deserts.

          • BK

We were unable to reproduce your issue. But you are right, we will look more into extensions isssues, at least, the most popular ones 🙂

          • yigido

            Thank you.

the only problem I had with opera and do not recognize me the flash player

bug: Can only see 11 animated theme in menu/theme page. I have over 100 animated themes in directory

  • Kamen Minkov

Clicking the Opera icon keeps switching to a different virtual desktop if I have an Opera window open there. I liked the previous behaviour that would switch to a window only if it’s on the same desktop (and it would open a new window otherwise).

  • Luiz Ricardo

    and stable … when? :

    • Leonardo Gomes

      Soon, as said.

      • BK

        Builds are already stashed 😀

  • yigido

I have never waited so much for a stable version lol.. 🙂

    • Rafael

      Me either =)

    • xirit64

Doesn’t look to me any different than any other time, a new (stable) version comes every 2 months.

  • [828586]

When you make something with performance, because of for example I7 with GTX 970 Opera is working quite well, but on for example Core M is working awfully, I know that Chrome engine is one of the worst optimized but maybe there is something that can be done

This applies to each version of the Opera beta, developer etc… it is always the same shit engine

    • BK

We are working on it. Some updates are to be delivered in O38, more, in O39

      • Kai Ockendorf

Thanks for all the hard work & all the awesome new features!! But don’t forget to work on speed aswell please 😉

  • Matheus Bitencourt

Please, make the Speed Dial thumbnails customizable! It would be amazing if we could pick any picture and use it as thumbnails… Another amazing approach would be the “suggested” thumbnails pictures for the given website, based in the most common images used by the other users.

    • Vux777

speed dial thumbnails are the same as bookmarks thumbnails
you can choose available pictures for that site from the heart menu
      (when you visit that site)

      • Matheus Bitencourt

I owe you a hug! A huge hug, my friend. Thank you!

        • Vux777

          yw 🙂

  • Rafael

The final version 37 the Opera’s browser come in today?

    • xirit64

Tomorrow I’d say when the remaining staff that is on vacation due to the orthodox Easter returns 🙂

      • Rafael

        Thanks for this information. =)

        • nicks

Tomorrow a day off in Poland, so probably after tomorrow.

          • xirit64

“Constitution day”all right 🙂 For a moment I thought it could be the postponing of May the 1st.

          • Rafael

            Thank you very much.

  • Herr Pietrus

sorry that I’m writing about that here but… because we don’t have true session manager I’m using available “save all cards as a SD folder functionality and… it’s soooo annoying when all these pages get by default “text tiles” instead of the page thumbnails that I use for all my SD elements… 🙁 What about adding some switch in advanced settings or something like that?

    • Nekomajin43

How about a proper session manager instead of bloating the speed dial?

      • Herr Pietrus

It would be nice, but (i shouldn’t say that!) personally I don’t use so many sessions as I used to, so saving a few pages in SD is quite convenient, especially if I had thumbnails created – I can easily open even one or a couple of saved pages from session. But generally you’re right – session manager from Opera 12 is what we really need.

        • Nekomajin43

What I miss the most is the automatic session saving. Opera is stable like a stone (I had about two crashes in the last years), but without a confirm exit prompt, I really need it.

Of course, a confirm exit option would be better.

  • Since Opera changed to Webkit / Blink, the interface under Plasma (KDE) never respect the text color theme for UI if using a dark theme scheme. > http://i.imgur.com/X8JKIJE.png and http://i.imgur.com/JovxbyL.png and this is from 1 year ago http://i.imgur.com/jT3i4HE.png

With Chromium doesn’t happens. Sorry for my english.

    Report: DNA-52995
I passed my LastPass problem to LastPass support. They just said “clear the cache”.. I already tried it. Not help.
On the same PC, Chrome works fine with LastPass with all builds. There is no LastPass problem or my connection problem.
On the Opera 37 and upper releases have problem with LastPass. LastPass works OK on Chrome so there is no problem with LastPass (.crx) so Problem came from Opera? Am I right? Because Opera 36 worked fine with LastPass. on Opera 37 and upper releases, I do not know what you added to browser, it brakes LastPass.
I hope this will help to you. I am very tired of this problem.
    You should do something.

    • mb

I’m on 38.0.2213.0 (Win10 Insider) and LastPass (v4.1.2) works fine.

    • Leonardo Gomes

Last update for that extension was on March. Maybe it need an update to adapt to Opera 37? maybe they are waiting for the stable release to make the updates?

  • sgrandin

For some reason, yahoo.com remains slow to load here with recent Opera beta’s, often returning a blank page for a long time or requiring a second attempt. I just checked at the same time this was happening and no other browser I have – Opera 12, Vivaldi, FF, IE11, Slimjet – had this problem with the page, although FF46 was somewhat slower to load. This is Windows 7 and I’m using a laptop and relatively fast wi-fi.

    • Kurt Zon

do u get same with extensions disabled??

  • Martimus

i think the patch isnt really helping i got the newest beta client and developer client and both get stuck if i open a video in fullscreen!

  • pluttek

Restore thumbnail speed dial please! If there is no old thumbnails web, I go to Vivaldi!

    • Gloriam

If you mean having a screenshot of the website as thumbnail, you can still do that.

Go to the website you’ve added in the speed dial, press on the heart icon and select the screenshot or logo you wish to use.

      Hope this helps for you.

      • sgrandin

Shouldn’t have to do all that for dozens of thumbnails. But even then, it’s not at all obvious what to do with the screenshot or logo. Clicking on it doesn’t seem to do anything. The one time something happened, it wasn’t obvious what action caused it, but the thumbnail ended up in first top left position instead of where it was.

But there seems to be another option, at least in part. After installing a new mobo and updating the beta yesterday, I found the tiles in SD. So I copied back the files from a backup and the thumbnails returned. So it’s been until just now, it was top half tiles and bottom half thumbnails, with some tiles mixed in the latter. A minute or two, however, the SD had become almost entirely thumbnails, with just a few tiles. That makes me wonder if what’s happening is instead of loading a blank space upon opening when a thumbnail needs to reload, as with Opera 12, tiles are the default space filler until the thumbnails load.

      • pluttek

Ok, actually it can be changed in the way You described . Thank you.

        • Gloriam

          Glad I could help. 🙂

  • sgrandin

One thing about these Chromium (or Blink) based browsers is it’s often impossible to copy text by dragging the mouse across, etc. At least some kind of workaround that doesn’t require going to IE (or Opera 12) would be nice.

    • wuqi

      Try vivaldi !

  • L33t4opera
