Thanks for this Opera 44.0.2510.433 Beta bugfix update !

  • Citizen Unique

Are you looking to push Project Reborn onto the beta channel?

    • Kai Ockendorf

Beta versions are always feature complete! While the Dev O45 just has it, guess you’ll have to wait till O45 beta then 😉

    • Currently we want to stabilize it in Developer to not push half baked product into beta. We hope to get it into Beta & Stable eventually.

  • EggsAreCute

Hello! Synchronization stopped working for me.

Here is the log from opera://account-internals/ page: http://pastebin.com/3zS4yS1f

It says 307 http status. But what url caused redirect?

  • Corzo

Hi, the thumbnails for bookmarks is broken, only shows the default image despite the chosen made.

    • Kornelia

Seems to work fine for me. Trying different folders and I can successfully change thumbnails. What’s your operating system?

      • Corzo

Sorry, false alarm, after clearing browser data and restarting a couple times the issue was gone. Thanks Kornelia.

  • looking for a stable version of the release!

  • M.Gökçay KABATAŞ

Hello, as you know GIF’s is not working on Facebook after updating v43. At the same time, twitter videos are not working for Ubuntu 14.04. Also, I want to ask why opera cannot work flash player properly in linux. I mean after every update, I got a problem :/. Thanks in advance.

    • Kornelia

Please update your flash and check if it helps.

      • M.Gökçay KABATAŞ

Thanks for answer, I updated but it did not help :/

    • L33t4opera

Hi, you can try one of the following solutions:
Download the opera-beta-ffmpeg codecs from Herecura’s repo: 64-bit, or 32-bit version, extract libffmpeg.so from the package to /usr/lib/chromium-browser,
      or sudo add-apt-repository ppa:canonical-chromium-builds/horizon
      sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra(in this case it will be updated automatically, when you update your packages, although the lib from the Heracura's repo seems to be updated more frequently).

In case, that you have already installed a version of the lib in /usr/lib/chromium-browser, and you’re using it in other applications, so alternatively to the above, follow the below steps: download (not install) one of the packages mentioned above, and navigate to the Opera’s root folder, create a new subfolder lib_extra, extract libffmpeg.so from the package to this subfolder, and run the Opera with the switch as follows: /usr/bin/opera-beta --ffmpeg-preload-mode=permissive.

Regarding the Flash plug-in, you can try one of the following:
If you have already installed the adobe-flashplugin package, you can try to reinstall it as follows: sudo apt-get --reinstall install adobe-flashplugin,
Go to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Chromium/Getting-Partner-Flash, click on “install the Flash plugin”, and follow the instructions. If after you click on the link it does nothing, just follow the steps mentioned below on the page,
Go to https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions, select your Linux’s architecture (64-bit/32-bit), and select “FP 24.0 for Ubuntu” in step 2, click on “Download now”, and follow the instructions.

In case, that you want to install it manually: go to https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions, select your Linux’s architecture, and select “FP 24.0 for Linux (.tar.gz) PPAPI” in step 2, download it, and copy libpepflashplayer.so and manifest.json from the archive to /usr/lib/adobe-flashplugin.

Thanks for answer, I tried but it does not work may be I had a mistake :/

        • L33t4opera

Not a problem, what you have tried from the above mentioned solutions?
It works here without problems for me.

    • redfox

GIF’s are not displayed on Facebook in the Windows version too (since 43), not only Linux! It may be a FB issue, don’t know.

  • Hey. Sometimes this bug happens: the download of the any file disappears before the end of the download. I must to start the download again. Please, fix it.

    • Ewa Mieżejewska

What OS? Could you provide sample link to file?

      • Any file from any site. It does not matter. For example, I was able to download drivers for the graphics card from the site NVIDIA only at the second attempt.
        (Windows 8.1 х64)
But this problem does not recur when you load the same file again, this problem it appears by chance. I could not establish the regularity.
        Sorry for my English. 🙂

      • I found the cause of the bug, but my comment was deleted.

  • I guess it is intended behaviour that when synchronising two browsers the saved links in one speed dial are not automatically added to the other speed dial as well, right? On the other hand it would be handy if it did this the first time when they get synchronised, so a newly installed Opera on one machine would get the same speed dial links that the main machine already has.

Furthermore I noticed that the Flash setting still gets set back when switching VPN on and off, so I have to change it back to always start a Flash video after switching VPN on again.

    • Leonardo Gomes

It has been discussed since Sync was introduced about a couple of years ago. Some people like the way things work currently while others would prefer to have Speed Dial the same Speed Dial on all Opera installations.

About Flash and VPN, I guess it’s by design.

      • Thanks for your reply, that is what I assumed about filling a new speed dial page with known links when synchronising it to an older installation. In the meantime I have found a way to copy them from the bookmarks page which shows a folder with the links on the old computer, but it is neither a convenient nor self-explaining method in my opinion, so it would be nice if we had an option to do this automatically while synchronising.

Concerning the Flash disabling when switching VPN on it looks more like a bug to me. 😉 Other than that I really like the new Opera, so I made it my standard browser on two computers again. The available add-on for installing Chrome extensions also helped in this decision, as I can scrobble listened music to my Last.fm profile that way.

        • Leonardo Gomes

Plug-ins being disable when VPN is enabled have been commented around here too if I remember correctly.

It happens because plug-ins data (can) bypass VPN and, therefore, reveal real data from user.

  • Patrick F

what about the build in chromecast support?

  • Dodo Phe

Gifs don’t play in Opera for Windows – at all. Using latest stable version:
    Version information

Version: 43.0.2442.1144 (PGO) – Opera is up to date
    Update stream: Stable
    System: Windows 10 32-bit

Can’t figure out why. Older versions of Opera had quick preferences option: Enable Animated Pictures, but here – nothing seems to be there to solve the problem. Anyone, help?

    • Leonardo Gomes

This post is about Opera 44 Beta.

Anyway, GIFs run fine here. Does the problem happens with all GIFs on all sites? Can you play html5 videos?

      • Dodo Phe

Actually, no. Now that you’ve asked I’ve realized – it’s only one site I visit frequently – but it opens completely normal in any other browser. I’m used to Opera working flawlessly… This is so confusing I didn’t know what to do anymore, so I asked for help to my problem on the wrong post, sorry… 🙂
        Example: http://www.index.hr/lajk/poster/184617/rucak-joj-se-odlucio-osvetiti-prije-nego-sto-ga-je-pojela

        • Leonardo Gomes

The GIF plays fine here. I’m on Windows 10 too but I have the 64 bits version.

          • Dodo Phe

Do you have any idea what would be the reason /solution? Should I go to beta 44? I’ve got a strange feeling that wouldn’t fix the problem. Do you think it’s 32/64 thing? Is there a workaround?

          • Leonardo Gomes

Do you use any extension? What abou the ad-blocker? Did you try with it disabled?

          • Dodo Phe

Tried everything in settings. It’s not the adblocker, it’s not opera turbo…

  • Nekomajin43

Any word on DNAWIZ-12542? The messenger.com window breaks after watching yt video on full screen on any tab. The middle column overflows the window, and the input field is not accessible.

  • L33t4opera

    New build – Opera beta 44.0.2510.849 😉
