Thank you although I am still on Opera 41 Stable pending resolution of :

DNA-58537: Zone information registry entry setting not respected for downloaded files.

  • iPristy

Is O43 stabile on it’s way?

I see DNA-58004, is that also for Win7 under standard user account because i use Chrome, Opera don’t want to be default browser.

  • ktxgio

    thanks for new release

  • Cryio

“DNA-58004 Not possible to set 64 bit Opera the default browser, Win10.”

And yet, I see no Windows x64 download link 😀

    • Leonardo Gomes

The online /network installer should detect that you are using a 64 bits version of Windows and download the 64 bits version of Opera.

      • Ariane Lu

No, it always download 32 bit version, see me comment, if you know any more file may cause this issue, let me know

        • Frederik

I have the exact same problem. Keeps installing the 32 bits version. I even tried to uninstall opera and reinstall it.

        • Leonardo Gomes

There seem that there was some bug when ‘upgrading’ from a 32 bits versions to a 64 bits one so maybe they have stopped offering the x64 build through the network installer.

        • Przemek Kudła

This is the known issue, sorry. We are working on a solution.

  • ShintoPlasm

Thanks for this. I can confirm that the crashes when opening a File dialog on Mac have been fixed, as far as I can see.

    • Robert Tomaszewski

Thank you ShintoPlasm for your feedback!

      • ShintoPlasm

Grumble. I was too excited… Some crashing still occurs, although it seems to happen less frequently than before. My Opera is set to automatically forward crash data back to you, but I’m trying to determine the exact scenario where this crashing takes place.

  • oldq

    I’m sorry, Google translation …
bug icon “tabs” on the Express panel eliminated – it appears when running the synchronization …
mismatch sections in the bookmarks manager and synchronization – no manager in the “unsorted bookmarks” Online sync this section is …

    • Robert Tomaszewski

      Hi Oldq,
Let me put the changes that you refer in this:
      1. Activity (Tabs) -> it appears as soon as Sync is active and more than 1 device associated to
      2. Unsorted bookmarks -> it appears only if it is not empty
That is the behavior we just fixed 🙂
Please let me know if it does not work this way at your side.

  • iG0Lka

Kornelia Mielczarczyk, PLEASE! – Whether you can do it – you highlight the text is a link (which Opera does not recognize as a link), and clicking on it the wheel to open it in a background tab?
Now, to open the link in a text (which Opera does not recognize as a link), you need to select the text is a link, then open the context menu by pressing the right mouse button. Then, hold down the Ctrl key and select “Go to web address”

it is known issue since the previous version 42.0.2393.94, but devs don’t care

    • qwerzaq

It confirmed when it will be fixed?

      • Leonardo Gomes

It works on developer 44 and if I remember correctly, also on beta 43.

        • qwerzaq

confirmed, thank you very much and hope in a stable Opera will soon earn

          • Leonardo Gomes

Most probably as soon as 43 reaches stable channel.

  • Vj

how to check if im on 64bit opera

    • Vikruntasas

If you’re on Windows, just open a Task Manager and see if Opera processes say Opera.exe or Operax32.exe. If it’s only Opera.exe – you are using the 64 bit version.

      • Mikolaj Boc

You can also select the ‘platform’ column in Task Manager (RMB on column name row)

    • Robert Tomaszewski

You can open url “opera:about” and check “System:” If it is like this “Windows 10 64-bit” it is exactly 64-bit. If it is like this: “Windows 10 64-bit (WoW64)” then it indicates 32-bit build.

  • buzz

    Plz bring translator to Opera.

  • Vj

just checked im still on 32bit, i tried the default network installer still no 64 bit option

    • Leonardo Gomes

For now I guess that the installer will not download the 64 bits version if you have the 32 bits installed.

    • Ariane Lu

Stop read and ignore this reply if you are not a Windows user…

Yep, same issue, uninstalled all old version and renamed profile folder, but not work, I download latest version of Opera 64 bit from http://www.opera64bit.com.

Remember check digital signature in right click > properties before run it

      • Leonardo Gomes

Please do not post unofficial download pages here. The only correct way to get Opera is through http://www.opera.com or using the links provided in posts in this blog.

X64 version can be downloaded from here.

        • Ariane Lu

Sorry for that. Also, if digital signature is valid, it should be safe.
But i can’t make sure everyone will check it.

I will edit and delete the link tomorrow, i’m on mobile version now, no edit button

          • Leonardo Gomes

I know you probably post the link with the best of intentions but, you know, others may also post links but with not so good intentions and many people will juts click on it without even think of making sure the link is safe, just because it was posted on an Opera blog.

Version 42.0.2393.94 on Linux (Slackware 14.2, 64 bits, KDE Plasma 5.8.4) alway comes to the foreground when I click an URL in another application (e.g., kmail, akregator) instead of staying in the background, which is semi-disruptive.

Previous versions didn’t behave like this. I can’t test this new version right now, but is anyone else experiencing the same?

    Thanks!

  • Spideymang

    Hi Kornelia, Opera team

Thanks for the update but on my laptop I got an error and my antivirus came up with this notification http://prnt.sc/dxazrj

Is there any problem with the update on Windows? Im using win7 x 64bt

    • You might want to check the file for example here:

Thanks Ariane, do you know in where can I do that? I have never done that, and now that Avast acquires AVG maybe it would be difficult???

Default network installer does not provide 64 bit version of Opera? I’m running installer on Windows 10 64 bit and deleted old version opera, rename “Opera Software” folder in “%AppData%”

    BTW:
“Copy download link” in download page has stopped work again, report as DNAWIZ-10963

    • Robert Tomaszewski

      Hi Ariane,
Network Installer does not provide x64 build yet. It is on the way.
Thanks for catching and reporting the issue with “copy download link”. I forwarded it to the development to have this investigated.

  • Raylan Givens

Why don’t you provide clean x64 builds for download? I don’t want to start messing with the web installer.

By the way, the last 2 stable builds I was getting settings problems. I couldn’t see many settings for some reason in about:settings. I couldn’t set custom ad block filters either. I remember last time I tried Opera ( 40 ), I found the way to add ’em. Back to Edge for now. Unfortunately none can match Edge’s efficiency in rendering and playing videos.

    Win 10 x64 – Opera x64 “Stable” builds.

    • What build of Windows 10? try winver in the start menu

    • Ariane Lu

I’m on Windows 10 version 1607 with Opera 42, i can found it in my browser settings

      • Raylan Givens

Well, I deleted everything Opera related, I downloaded a new copy of Opera 42 x64 and now everything works as it should. Perhaps some settings got corrupted because when I get an update I manually delete the old version of Opera’s folder.

        Win 10 x64 1607 build 693 of course ( latest )

Od kilku tygodni mam problemy ze synchronizacją. System: Linux (Ubuntu, Manjaro, Debian, openSUSE) x64, Opera: 42.0.2393.94 & 42.0.2393.137

  • Takes 8 page reloads on opera://about/ to get it to start downloading this update on Windows

  • oldq

returned to the opera 41 – in Opera 42 x32 and x64 too many problems for the network

  • Paweł

    Hey,
I found two problems in the browser that probably the two versions are not repaired or corrected.
The speeddial on the right side, where the gear, do not I get the “search box”. The second issue concerns the sync icon. On the right side, does not display an icon of synchronization. Only the “menu” as I click synchronization (logged in as …), said the icon shows up, but after a short time, disappear. Opera version for x64 Win10.

Włączyłem tą opcję, i raz jeszcze wyłączyłem. W speed dialu, mam już widoczną opcję “pole wyszukiwania”.

  • disqus_ZnnLgyrhkF

I’m still seeing memory leaks. Not as high and fast as before, but still there. Is it because of the 32bit installer instead of the 64bit, or perhaps something else? Anyone else seen this?

  • Robert

    Witam.
Wersja Opery to 64bit.

    • Robert Tomaszewski

      • Robert

        Dzięki za info. Pozdrawiam.

The network installer is not downloading the 64-bit version for Windows as it’s supposed to, it rather downloads the 32-bit version regardless of system architecture, I downloaded the stand-alone 64-bit installer from opera’s FTP server and it worked fine, the auto-update seems to work and opera is present in the list of default browsers in my Windows 10 PC, all the problems related to the 64-bit version seem to be solved, so would someone at Opera update the network installer so it would download the 64-bit version for Windows.

Why anyone would send you an e-mail?

Maybe Opera is thinking that you are doing a new installation? Did you try a reinstall?

Hi, I tried reinstalling but nothing happens. I use windows 7 … I think it is a problem of the version of Opera, the previous version walked without problems, when update occurred the problem.
Ask if you wanted to send an email with the screenshots so you can see what Opera does. Maybe we can find the solution to the problem or let the developers know.

No, the keyboard shortcuts are also deleted, also the background of the screen is clear, all after the last update.
