We are thrilled to share with you our latest experience in Lagos, Nigeria where last Sunday we held a press conference to announce the launch of Opera News Hub. Opera’s new content platform allows authors to create original online content and share it with Opera’s user base of 350 million people.
The press conference was organized by our very talented local team of editors at Opera News who did a great job of hosting more than 200 people, including members of the Nigerian press and social media influencers.
Upon their arrival, guests were received with food and drinks prior to the big announcement of the night. During the reception, people took the opportunity to take pictures and selfies with friends and partners at the photo opportunity booths at the venue.
After some mingling and networking, the attendees were invited to the main auditorium. The event started with Scot Eritemu, Product Manager for Opera News, introducing the platform and sharing a video in which different Nigerian authors and influencers shared their thoughts about being writers in Nigeria.
After the official presentation, Bayo Oluphunda, Editor-in-Chief at Opera News, Collins Udeme, Editorial Manager at Opera News, and Alejandro Viquez, Communication Manager at Opera, were invited to the stage to discuss the ways in which new online content and marketing platforms are helping thousands of authors and millions of businesses boost their online visibility and generate more revenue.
After a round of questions and answers, the attendees enjoyed more music and pictures while members of the media took the opportunity to conduct interviews with the Opera News Hub team members.
This experience was definitely a memorable start for Opera News Hub in Nigeria. Thank you to everyone who attended the occasion. If you didn’t have the chance this time around, we hope to meet you at future events.
